Ammo amnesty continues following end of weapons amnesty

MARYBOROUGH MP Anne Maddern is reminding Fraser Coast residents the State Government's ammunition amnesty is continuing despite the official end of the weapons amnesty.

Mrs Maddern said members of the public were still encouraged to surrender unwanted small arms ammunition to Fraser Coast police stations.

She said the amnesty was designed to help prevent injuries and fatalities.

"The amnesty applies to sporting small arms ammunition with a calibre up to 19mm in brass and steel cases, as well as shotgun ammunition including brass and plastic shells up to 19mm," she said.
