Angels dedicated to helping Maryborough community
A DEDICATED group of volunteers who have set their sights on helping the Maryborough community will hold a jumble sale at the weekend.
Since banding together two years ago the group have raised thousands of dollars, all donated to charities and organisations who have asked for assistance.
From Melbourne Cup fundraiser to sausage sizzles, team leader Eleni Hill said it couldn't be done without the generosity of businesses and residents.
"The businesses in town have been very generous and supportive including Decal and Bakers Delight.
"We have just finished fundraising for TESS for security cameras and tools for their workshop and now we are fundraising for the next three months for Share The Dignity in June, July and August."
Eleni said any charity or organisation could apply for help.
"If there is a need to be money raised, just send an application to PO Box 3065, Pallas St Post Office," she said.
"So people can put an application into the RDT Angels and then we will fundraise."
The Jumble Sale will be held on Saturday, June 23 from 8am at the Seniors Citizens Centre, 333 Alice St, Maryborough.
There will be a variety of clothes, accessories and you can fill a bag for $2 and all prices as marked.
One of the groups most exciting ventures to date will be the Scavenger Car Rally on October 20 with proceeds donated to Angel Flight, M.A.C.E. , F.C.W.S. and a nominated charity chosen by the business sector and associations in the areas the car rally ventures through.
RDT Angels hold sausage sizzles every Saturday at Dan Murphy's, Richmond St, Maryborough.
