Art exhibition fundraiser to help transform lives
LOCAL artists are making final preparations before they join members of Bayside Transformations this week for an art exhibition aimed at raising much-needed funds.
Event organiser Tina Embrey, of Bayside Transformations, said artists were getting behind the event which will fund improvement to the lives of those involved in the residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation centre.
"Because we're non-gov-ernment funded, we've got to raise our own funding to keep ourselves going so we thought about an art exhibition," she said.
"We've got some local artists who are going to put paintings in with a percentage of that coming to us.
"Many of our residents are artists themselves so they will also be putting some art in along with the staff."
Artist Ashleigh Manley said the exhibition was a great way for artists to showcase their work while helping raise funds.
Opening night will be on Friday at 6pm and run from 10.30am till 2.30pm on Friday and Saturday.
