Bay hotels rate highly in national poll of travellers

HOTELS in Hervey Bay have some of the best reputations in Australia, according to a new traveller poll.

Website examined more than 120 million traveller ratings and determined that Hervey Bay has the fifth best online hotel reputation in Queensland.

In the national list, Hervey Bay is ranked 18th, placed between Margaret River in Western Australia and Bowen.

In Queensland, the Fraser Coast follows closely behind Port Douglas for visitor's satisfaction ratings.

The best rated hotel in Hervey Bay, Akama Resort, has a 92.83 rating and is ranked 11th in the state.

The hotel also made the national list, ranking 19th in Australia.

In second place is Alexander Lakeside B&B with a 92.76 rating, making it 14th in Queensland's top 50 and 23rd in the national list.

Chamomile Bed and Breakfast also features among the country's best rated hotels, ranking 17th in Queensland and 32nd nationally with a rating of 92.61.

The Grand Mercure Allegra, Hervey Bay Colonial Lodge, Sanctuary Lakes Fauna Retreat, Coconut Palms on the Bay, Emeraldene Inn, Hervey Bay Waterfront Apartments and Fraser Coast Top Tourist Park also scored highly, according to visitors.

The best rated hotel on Rainbow Beach, Debbie's Place, has a 93.11 rating and is ranked eighth in Queensland.

The hotel also made the national list in 14th place.
