Beth braves shave for cure

AFTER years of raising funds for cancer research, Beth Devlin took the leap and shaved her head for the annual World's Greatest Shave, raising more than she could have imagined.

In just under two weeks Ms Devlin, with the support of family and friends, raised $2000 but since having her head shaved last week donations have doubled.

Ms Devlin is a member of Maryborough Creative Fabrics and last week in front of her club she shaved her silver locks, with members donating $160 on the day.

Some members also had the opportunity to chop off some of her locks.

This is the 20th anniversary of the fundraiser, where funds raised go to support the 35 Australians who will be told today they have blood cancer like leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma.
