Bringing legendary Elvis to life
THE spirit of Elvis Presley is not only alive and well, but is being faithfully channelled through countless devotees, including Hervey Bay's Trevor Turner.
He was in Parkes to take part in the 25th anniversary of the annual Elvis Festival, which was held last week.
"I feel humbled and proud at the same time to be a representation of the King,” the 65-year-old said.
Mr Turner was constantly being stopped in the street to have photos taken by delighted Elvis fans and was also interviewed by news crews during his visit.
This is the first year the local fisherman from Hervey Bay, who travelled over 1000km to attend the Parkes Elvis Festival, will perform in front of the impressive, Elvis-loving crowd.
"I have wanted to do this for some time, but the timing was never right,” Mr Turner said.
"From a kid, I've always loved Elvis, loved his singing, his attitude, he portrayed a happy and friendly guy and he was a handsome fellow.”
