Broken bone hits young star Viney
MELBOURNE young gun Jack Viney is expected to miss at least four weeks after scans revealed a small fracture in his right fibula.
The 21-year-old, a father-and-son selection in the 2012 national draft, hurt the leg late in last weekend's 45-point loss to Greater Western Sydney.
Demons football manager Josh Mahoney said the injury did not require surgery.
"It will be treated symptomatically and once the bone has healed, he will return to play," Mahoney said.
Teammate Daniel Cross suffered a similar injury last year and missed four weeks.
