Buccaneers squad is almost finalised for the new season
FOOTBALL: The Wide Bay Buccaneers have been boosted by two late signings ahead of the new season.
The extensive knowledge of Tasmanian football from coach Tim Lunnon and international signing Ben Brookfield has seen Nathan Bartlett join the club.
Bartlett will re-join Brookfield after they played for Launceston City last year in Tasmania.
The attacking player made 40 appearances in the past three years and scored nine goals.
He won't play today against Holland Park.
"It only got finalised on Tuesday,” Lunnon said.
"He lives in Brisbane so will play most of our away matches and a few here in Wide Bay.
"He's a quality play and has plenty of flexibility where he plays.”
The club has also announced they are in the final stages of signing 26-year-old Ben Wilkes who will become the last international signing.
The striker/left winger comes from the United Kingdom but has been playing football in the United States for the past three years.
The club is just waiting on his visa approval before they can officially sign him.
