YOUR STORY: Butchulla woman off to Paris

YOUR STORY is your forum to debate a local issue, celebrate the success, share something special, or just get something off your chest.

Here's Jade Gould's story:

"I am a Butchulla and Woppaburra woman from Hervey Bay and both Fraser Island and Keppel Islands.

"Please help me attend the 2015 United Nations Convention on Climate Change and give indigenous Australians an international voice.

"I was the first in my family to complete high school (and now) I am currently completing a Masters of Science and hope to make a difference to Aboriginal communities by reducing the impact climate change may have.

"This is not only on our every day lives, but also the impact it may have on our culture.

I have been selected to represent SEED (and Aboriginal Australia) at the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change this year in Paris during November and December.

I hope to learn leadership skills to build the climate movement."
