CCTV catches man stealing two charity tins

A HERVEY Bay bakery has turned to Facebook to catch a man who stole two charity tins from their business.

At about 12.30pm on January 27, a CCTV camera in Torquay's Top of the Bay Bakery caught the moment a man walked in to the store and took the tins, full of cash to be donated to Guide Dogs Australia and Shave for a Cure; organised by the owner's daughter who is shaving her head.

Owner of Top of the Bay Bakery in Torquay Steven Sarah uploaded CCTV footage to the business' Facebook page, asking people if they could identify the man.

"Since then I've had so many messages from people trying to help," Mr Steven said.

"Police are looking into it now but we think we've identified him."

A Hervey Bay police spokesman said the incident was reported via Policelink and investigations were continuing.
