Chocolate treat for children at Bay hospital this Easter
AN EASTER Bunny bearing gifts of chocolate eggs was the best medicine for sick kids at the Hervey Bay Hospital.
Jasmine Greenhalgh, aged 15 months, could not wait to peel off the chocolate's shiny wrapping to enjoy a mouthful between medical consults with doctors.
Paediatric ward nurse manager Di Van de Velde said the early visit by the fluffy rabbit on Thursday brought smiles to the faces of nine kids there, who were aged up to 17 years old.

"The kids had a fantastic morning mucking around and playing with the bunny," she said.
Thousands of other kids in the region will wake up tomorrow to gorge on the special holiday treats.
The eggs signify new beginnings in the Christian religion.
