Cleaners playing their part after fire

A TEAM of steam cleaners took over the Brolga Theatre in Maryborough yesterday.

Nothing was spared in an effort to rid the theatre of any remaining soot, after an October fire.

An electrical fire started in a room under the stage on October 26, causing hundreds of people to be evacuated.

Fraser Coast regional councillor Phil Truscott said the fire had caused a few hiccups.

"The staff, with the help of volunteers and user groups, have been able to keep the theatre going until the insurance assessment was completed and repair work started," Cr Truscott said.
