Crowds flock to Hervey Bay's Rotary Living Expo

OVERCAST conditions have not turned people away from Hervey Bay's Rotary Living Expo, with crowd numbers well up on last year.

Rotary president Craig Winter said it was "bloody good" to see so many people descend on Seafront Oval for the weekend's expo.

"It's been an absolute ripper of a weekend," Mr Winter said.

Saturday's patchy rain did not put off showgoers, with the figure up on the previous year.

"I was a bit worried after last year - the rain we had then knocked us around," Mr Winter said.

"On Saturday we had 2700 through the gates - that's about 200 up on last year," he said.

"We've added a further 50 exhibitors from last year," Mr Winter said.

He said the appeal of caravans on the Fraser Coast seemed to entice people to the expo.

"They just keep coming in and people seem to like them," he said.
