Cawarral man and his family are cut off from the world
IN A time where everything from banking to social networking is done online, internet access is crucial.
So Cawarral man Matt Maloney wants to know why, half way between two suburban towns like Rockhampton and Yeppoon, he's being forced to go without.

He said the lack of internet access, coupled with poor mobile coverage and a landline phone which can't be connected, has had a massive impact on his family.
"The infrastructure here, it's not enough for a growing area," he said.
"Phone service is very ordinary. You only get one bar, and when you're inside and you get a phone call you have to leave the house to go and talk to somebody, it's just ridiculous."
Matt and his family left Cawarral about two years ago to live in Rockhampton, and returned to the area just after New Year's.
They were told it should take a week to connect their landline phone, but more than two weeks later it still hasn't been done.
When they used to live in the area they had access to ADSL internet through their landline phone, but since they've moved back their service provider has been unable to connect them up again.
They initially told Matt there was no record of them ever being connected with ADSL, but yesterday they realised there was and are now working to resolve that issue.
"It's a really frustrating thing for the whole family," he said. "It's the contact to the outside world.
