Dance eisteddfod starts soon

YOUNG performers will step up later this month at the Maryborough Dance Eisteddfod.

The local dancers have been practising intensely for the dance competition which will be held at the Brolga Theatre on May 14, 15 and 16.

"This is the first time for many years that a separate dance eisteddfod has been held in Maryborough," eisteddfod patron Robin Hinricks said. "This is largely due to the increasing popularity of this section."

Adjudicator for the dance section this year is Kay Flynn, a talented woman who has dedicated a lifetime to studying dance and teaching professionally.

Ms Flynn has been fully registered with the Royal Academy of Dance, London, for more than 30 years and loves to share her expertise and experience with dancers in training.

"Entrants performing on stage at the Brolga will receive professional critiques from Ms Flynn guiding and encouraging them so they might continue as a performing artist," Ms Hinricks said.
