MARRIED At First Sight bride Davina Rankin has revealed today she has received a number of death threats for her portrayal on the show following an emotional video blog published this week.

The Instagram model, 26, went into hiding after copping backlash from the Australian public over her attempted on-air affair with Dean Wells, who ultimately chose to stay with his own TV wife Tracey Jewel instead.

In her latest vlog this week, she confessed: "Copping a large amount of hate is really not something I'm used to."

In the clip, Rankin is shown breaking down but a montage of different scenes shows her going to the hairdressers, hanging out with girlfriends, shooting a gun and going on a bush walk.

She also randomly promotes her WeLoveBrunch Co business throughout the YouTube video, which has amassed more than 33,000 hits so far.

"It's really important for me to get out of the house today," she says in the video.

"I have been neglecting myself a bit. My hair was starting to look a little bit skanky. Starting to feel back to my old self - having my like sh*t together again."

In an interview with ABC today, Rankin has lifted the lid on how bad the online abuse was.

"I've had people tell me they would punch me if they saw me on the street ... death threats," she said.

"I feel like if I go to the shops, all of those people that have commented on a meme about me are going to be there."

Last month, Channel 9 flatly denied rumours that Wells and Rankin were paid an incentive to have a fling on Married at First Sight.

"How ridiculous - you couldn't actually dream this up," a Nine spokeswoman told News Corp at the time.

Recent episodes of Married at First Sight have captured more than 1.3 million viewers across the five capital cities, smashing My Kitchen Rules and I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here.
