Double whammy king tide and effects of cyclone ‘unlikely’
WEATHERZONE meteorologist Brett Dutschke believes it's unlikely that the Fraser Coast will experience the double-whammy effects of a king tide and a potential tropical cyclone later this week.
He said current swells would subside by the time tides peaked on Friday morning.
"Regarding the tides, they peak later this week, so I suppose it's lucky the swell is dropping as the tides are getting higher," Mr Dutschke said.
"It is difficult to say whether your coastal impact erosion will be more significant later in the week compared to what you've just had.
"But my hunch is it will be less later in the week."
