A PLAYFUL puppy has delighted the elderly residents of RSL Care Baycrest with a visit to say thank you for the goods they had donated.

Hervey Bay Animal Refuge volunteers Judy and Maxine Smith took Mia, the friendly dog to meet Baycrest residents on Tuesday, after they donated a cage full of food as well as more than $340 to the refuge.

Employee Louise Gay said the residents enjoyed interacting with the dogs, as many owned pets before they moved to Baycrest.

"It gives the residents an opportunity to be a part of the community, being able to donate and see the results of their donations," she said.

A picture board will be supplied by the refuge so residents can see where their money is going.
