Brolga Theatre calls on support services to embrace the arts
THE Brolga Theatre is calling on local organisations that service disadvantaged Fraser Coast residents to embrace the joy of theatre.
Last year the Friends of the Brolga partnered with the council to launch the Inspired program, which aims to provide theatre tickets and cultural experiences to disadvantaged members of the community.
Councillor for Culture and the Performing Arts Phil Truscott said theatrical arts and live performances were one of the greatest joys in life but some people never got to experience them.
"This is what we're aiming to change through the Inspired Program," he said.
"We want all members of the Fraser Coast community to be able to enjoy performances and events at the Brolga Theatre, regardless of their financial hardships or personal situations."
The Brolga theatre is now calling for expressions of interest from organisations that have disadvantaged clients and would like to be included on the ticket distribution list for upcoming live performances.
"As a supporter of this initiative, your organisation may receive tickets to an upcoming performance and you will be asked to forward them to clients and families who would benefit from this experience."
