Fingers crossed, it might be time to dust off the old brolly
While the cloud cover should remain above the Garden City and surrounds today, Toowoombaites might do well to keep a brolly handy over the next few days.
Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Felim Hanniffy said showers today were more likely for the northern Darling Downs but Toowoomba could have some storms and showers throughout the week.
“There could be some severe storms building across the Downs and Toowoomba in the next few days,” he said.
“There is the chance of storms from Monday to Wednesday.”
Mr Hanniffy said the weather would be “very active” over the early part of the week but showers could be expected on most days of this week.
Temperatures are expected to be two to three degrees above the average for this time of year over the early part of the week with Wednesday expected to be up to five degrees above the average.
“Temperatures could be in the mid to high 30s on the western Downs depending on the cloud cover,” Mr Hanniffy said.
“It’s going to be a little warmer and muggy, a bit on the humid side.”
Toowoomba’s temperatures this week were expected to range from about 17 to the high 20s and 30.
