Foodie guide to lure NZ tourists

INTERNATIONAL foodies are twirling their forks around servings of the best in Sunshine Coast food this weekend with a new guide to our culinary experience.

As part of the Sunshine Coast culinary tourism group, Sunshine Coast Destination Ltd is launching its new Official Food Guide at the Auckland Food Show.

The guide aims to showcase the Coast's unique food experience including the paddock-to-plate concept, home-grown food and connecting with passionate producers.

New Zealand expat Martin Duncan, from Freestyle Escape Cooking School at Dulong in the Hinterland, is representing the region at the guide's launch.

"It's a great opportunity to connect with like-minded people and introduce Kiwis to the Sunshine Coast as a fabulous location for a short break away," he said.

The Official Food Guide will offer information about local producers, cooking schools, food attractions, markets, tours, festivals and award-winning restaurants, as well as tips on eating like a local.
