Funding boost for Kids Helpline to help regional areas
A MAJOR financial boost to Kids Helpline is expected to help children in the Fraser Coast and other regional areas.
The State Government will give the telephone support service $500,000 over the next four years to expand its support people aged 5-18 in regional and remote areas of Queensland.
"It's really important that our children and young people know there is help available when they're struggling with issues or facing abuse," Child Safety Minister Tracy Davis said.
"We know that abuse can have profound impacts on a child's social, emotional and behavioural development and it can lead to anxiety, depression and other mental health issues," Ms Davis said.
