New LGBTI Liaison Officer set to serve our community

A LGBTI Liaison Officer is now only an email away.

To further serve and protect members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) community, the Queensland Police Service has introduced a new LGBTI Liaison Coordinator to the Wide Bay Burnett region.

The role of this coordinator will be to monitor a special email system set up for contacting one of the qualified LGBTI officers in the region and help decide on the best way to manage a situation.

The new coordinator is part of the Queensland Police LGBTI liaison program.

This program was set up to provide a professional, non-discriminatory, accessible service to members of the LGBTI community.

There are currently 100 LGBTI liaison officers across Queensland.

To contact the coordinator for the Fraser Coast, send an email to LGBTIProgram.WideBayBurnett@police.qld.gov.au.
