Gallery presents twice the fun for little ones at Pipis Club

HERVEY Bay Regional Gallery's Pipis Club program for three to five-year-olds will be offered twice a month to give busy families greater opportunities to attend.

A Fraser Coast Regional Council spokesman said the Pipis Club was a fun and interactive program that encouraged little ones to explore the gallery exhibitions, experiment with a variety of visual art mediums, tap into their creativity and develop important language and fine motor skills.

The next Pipis Club session will be held on Thursday, March 14, from 10am to 11am, followed by a repeat session on Friday, March 15.

This month, the group will continue to explore the exhibition, Beachcomber, a collection of highly colourful and textured hand-embroidered works on canvas and beautiful timber sculptures by Fran Robinson.

After a joint discussion of the artworks, the children and their grown-ups can create some beautiful, woven artworks of underwater scenes, decorated with fish, shells and other embellishments.

Pipis Club is $2.70 per child with all materials provided.

Places are limited so bookings are essential.

For further information or to book, phone Hervey Bay Regional Gallery on 4197 4206 or call in to the Fraser Coast Cultural Centre, 166 Old Maryborough Rd, Pialba.

The car park entry is via Charles St.
