Girl's touching Anzac Day tribute: 'It's all because of you'

"EVERY step I take forward, every word I learn at school and every goodnight kiss I have received from my parents is all because of you. You have allowed me to have a future."

These were the words, spoken by a girl with a whole life ahead of her, as she thanked the Anzac soldiers who have touched every aspect of her life.

When Warwick State High School student Isabella Newton went to bed last night, she closed her eyes knowing she was truly safe.

In her address at the Warwick Anzac Day Dawn Service this morning Isabella paid tribute to the soldiers and their families who sacrificed everything to secure her future.

"I may not be related by blood or even know your name, you have changed my life and many thousands of lives," she said.

"You have allowed me to grow up with grandparents by my side ... you have allowed me to go to school to pursue my dreams to gain an education.

"I can make my own family, build my own house and live my own happy life unscathed from the stress of war.

"All because you hoped for a brighter future and went to fight for it."

As the sun rose slowly over the Leslie Park Cenotaph to reveal a crowd of hundreds, Warwick RSL Sub-branch president John Skinner remarked on the impressive turn out.

"Our cadets here from the 17th Australian cadet unit will raise the flag to the mast," he said.

While many paid their respects to the Anzacs during the ceremony, it was a quiet moments following the service that held special weight for some.

With her loving Great Dane by her side, Warwick woman Louise Wait stood at the foot of the Cenotaph and remembered her grandfather and other relatives who served in the war.

"All these men have for great big hearts to sacrifice their lives to give us the lives we have now," she said.

"They are great men. We honour them."
