Sunny days ahead following weekend rain
WHILE much of the country suffers through extreme weather conditions, those on the Fraser Coast can rejoice with the region set to be gifted near-perfect weather.
Winds are expected to ease, temperatures to hover between 22 degrees and 31 degrees, while the sun should be a constant companion for most between now and Saturday.
Weatherzone meteorologist Kim Westcott said few places could hope to match the region for weather in the coming days.
"You've got really nice weather this week," Ms Westcott told the Chronicle.
"Compared to Tassie right now which is getting flogged, and Melbourne which is really hot and sticky, and everywhere else, you've lucked out on the good weather at the moment.
"Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, you're looking at mostly sunny conditions, minimum temperatures of about 22 degrees, dropping down a little to 20 degrees on Thursday, with maximum temperatures hovering between 30 degrees and 31 degrees."
She said if there was a time to get outside, this week was it - something scooter riders Jared Rees, Josh Donkin and Kya Hebblewhite got a jump on during Sunday.
The faultless conditions followed a weekend of patchy rain that saw more than 11mm fall in Hervey Bay, while those in Maryborough welcomed more than 8mm.
