Granville Community Co-ordination Committee has 14 members

Fourteen members have been elected to the inaugural Granville Community Co-ordination Committee following last week's meeting.

The committee will be chaired by long-time Granville resident and retired principal of Granville State School Bob Hodge.

Trevor Schulz was elected vice-president and Linda Rossow will serve as secretary.

Councillor Daniel Sanderson said the members represented all sectors of the Granville community.

"The committee is very well balanced and focussed on helping the Granville community become more resilient in times of disaster," he said.

"We're all very aware that Granville is vulnerable and often becomes isolated in times of flood.

"The members are committed to working together to canvass ideas, assess the vulnerabilities and better prepare for future events."

Cr Sanderson said he was confident the community would be prepared for any future events, but like all members hoped it would never be necessary.

"Again I offer my congratulations, thanks and support to the new committee," he said.
