IN PICTURES: Family caught up in horror head-on smash

THREE people are being assessed for injuries after a head-on crash on a busy Maroochydore road.

Emergency services are still at the Sugar Rd scene after being called at 10.22am.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said three people were being assessed but were not expected to be taken to hospital.

The crash made for slow going along Sugar Rd.
