Hervey Bay library reopens after refurbishment

THE Hervey Bay library has reopened equipped with new service desks, shorter shelves and more natural light after it's $200,000 renovation.

Deputy Mayor George Seymour said the refurbishment meant the library would continue to be an information hub for the community.

"We've revitalised it and made it quite a vibrant space," he said.

"Libraries are vitally important."

The library was closed for 11 days while the works were undertaken.

It was full of people when it reopened on Tuesday morning.
