HOWE does he keep doing it?

Collingwood's Jeremy Howe is renowned for his superhuman-like efforts in the air but his performance at the MCG on Monday needed to be seen to be believed.

Taking on his old side Melbourne, Howe produced what is almost certain to be the mark of the year, sitting on Tom McDonald's head in front of nearly 80,000 people.

Howe leapt what felt like miles in the air before clunking the mark and managing to hold on as he came crashing back down to earth.

Demons captain Nathan Jones estimated he was three to four metres off the ground.

"I think that's probably the biggest and best I've seen from him," Jones said on SEN radio.

"That was enormous ... gee he got a ride.

"He's a freak ... that's for sure."

Howe has already won mark of the year once, for his amazing grab over Sydney's Heath Grundy at the SCG in 2012.

He came close in 2015, when he was a finalist for a huge grab against Adelaide and he was also nominated for grabs against the Western Bulldogs and GWS.

He was nominated another five times last year but the award went to Majak Daw.
