High-profile guest certain to pack a punch

WHEN it comes to putting bums on seats, there's none better than controversial boxer Anthony Mundine.

"The Man" Mundine will trade gloves for a suit and black tie when he heads to Hervey Bay next month as a special guest of Bayside Transformations' gala dinner and charity auction.

The event supports Bayside Transformations' rehabilitation program, which is designed to give people who struggle with drug and alcohol addictions a second chance.

Bayside Transformations house supervisor Scott Robertson said having a high-profile sportsman show support for their biggest fundraising event of the year was a huge coup.

"The fact Mundine is willing to take time out of his schedule to come to Hervey Bay just shows the heart he has for people who suffer from the affliction of addictions," he said.

"He has seen the impact drugs and alcohol has had on people's lives and he can relate with these people."
