Highs and Lowys of Frank’s day
TESTS have cleared FFA boss Frank Lowy of any injury after his spectacular fall from the A-League grand final podium.
The 84-year-old slipped as he prepared to present the winner's trophy to Melbourne Victory skipper Mark Milligan, somersaulting off the stage and crashing head-first into the turf.
A-League chief Damien de Bohun confirmed Lowy was "a bit sore", but said the tests confirmed he was in good health.
Paramedics rushed to his aid as a hushed crowd feared the worst, but the octogenarian's triumphant return to the dais sparked cheers, and rash of jokes, some wags suggesting it was the worst dive of the match.
