St Stephen's Hospital building owner taking offers for purchase
THE owner of the former Maryborough St Stephen's hospital building will begin assessing potential buyers.
UnitingCare's chief strategy officer Terence Seymour said the advertisement of St Stephen's Maryborough had finished.
"We had engaged a company called Savills to run a national advertise- ment campaign for that site, and that campaign has now concluded," Mr Seymour said.
"It has unearthed a number of parties that have asked for additional information, we've provided that to them, and a much smaller number have indicated some interest," he said.
Mr Seymour said UnitingCare would talk to potential buyers, and consider their future use of the building.
"UnitingCare Health will have a part of the decision-making process and will have a significant interest in the use of the property and it is our clear desire that however it is used, it will have a clear community aspect," he said.
"It's not just about the dollars being offered."
The spokesman said he could not provide a firm timeline of when the building would be sold.
"It's in our interest and the interest of the community to have this resolved as soon as possible," he said.
