How Keith lost 105kg, but he's not finished yet
KEITH Costello has tuned his life around.
Once weighing in at 340kg he's lost a staggering 105kg to see the scales drop to 235kg.
But he's not finished yet, Mr Costello who turned 30 in February plans to lose another 100kg over next six months.
"I've got to lose another 100kg, I hope to achieve it by Christmas," he said.
But it hasn't been and easy journey, Mr Costello said he gets to a point where he doesn't think he can keep going weekly.
"I just have to push through it and keep going.
"It's the hardest thing I've ever done, if it was easy everyone would be doing it.
"If I could just inspire one other person..."
Mr Costello said before his weight loss journey he was hiding from friends and family, now he's spending more time with them.
"I feel great, before I would sit at home all weekend.
"Now I do stuff, I'm never home now."
He started losing weight on his own in November but quickly decided to join a gym, choosing Anytime Fitness at Springfield to help him achieve his goals.
"I just knew I had to do it.
"I just don't feel like I've got the self drive at the moment to do it myself. Hopefully in the future I will.
With the help of a personal trainer Mr Costello has improved his health.
"I had to change my eating habits and exercise.
"It's like night and day. I feel great. I have more energy and I'm not as lethargic.
"I was going down a one way path. My health wasn't the best at the time.
"I had circulation problems. I wanted a better life."
The truck parts interpreter said the weight loss and exercise had even helped him at work.
He has been training three mornings a week with a personal trainer at the gym in half an hour to 45 minute sessions and is now adding in extra walking during the week and weekends to help him achieve the next 100kg weight loss.
His food intake has also dramatically changed.
"I was eating a lot of takeaways and greasy foods, now I eat veggies and protein."
