How would our mayoral candidates go in an election today?

IT HAS been 51 days since the Fraser Coast Regional Council was sworn in.

The Chronicle caught up with the Coast's mayoral candidates to find out where it went wrong and what they have been doing since the March election.

In the election Chris Loft unseated Gerard O'Connell to become the region's mayor.

Since the vote, Mr O'Connell has been pursuing business opportunities and is working with the Fraser Coast Anglican College.

"I've been able to spend more time with friends and family," he said.

Businessman Steve Coleman is now chairman of the Hervey Bay branch of the Liberal National Party.

Jannean Dean has fought to protect the memorial hall and is expected to make an announcement about her plans for the Federal Election.

Greg Schmidt has returned to his job constructing roads.
