Level one water restrictions take effect on Wednesday
WATER restrictions were downgraded Wednesday for homes connected to Lenthalls Dam in Hervey Bay and surrounding areas.
The more than 146mm of rainfall received over the dam's catchment areas from Friday through to Sunday topped water levels up from 57.2% to more than 100%.
Homes in Hervey Bay, Toogoom, Burrum Heads, Howard and Torbanlea reverted to the permanent level one water restrictions in place prior to the upgrade to level two on January 10.
The level one water restrictions mean:
- All sprinklers, irrigation systems and soaker hoses are banned between the hours of 9am and 4pm daily.
- Hand-held hoses are permitted any time but must be fitted with a trigger nozzle.
- Hosing of driveways and paved areas is permitted when a high-pressure cleaner is used.\
- Flushing of boat motors by hose is allowed at any time.
