'I can barely breathe': Lisa Curry's tribute to daughter
The daughter of former swimming champ Lisa Curry and her ironman ex-husband Grant Kenny, Jaimi, has lost her battle with a long-term illness.
Curry, a former Olympic champion, today broke her silence over her firstborn's passing, taking to Instagram to share a beautiful tribute.
Curry shared the family statement, which was released last night, and added that her daughter Jaimi was "so loved, so beautiful, so kind to everyone", she wrote the tragedy was "so painful" that she could barely breathe.
"Rest in peace my beautiful baby. I will miss you every sunrise, I will miss you when the sun is shining and the birds are singing," she wrote.
"I will miss you when the clouds are dark and stormy and when the rainbow appears.
"I will miss you when I close my eyes. I will miss you when I open my eyes. I will miss our long hugs and long chats. I will miss watching, feeling and knowing your love for your sister and brother, your little nephew, Cleo, your Ma and dad."
Curry wrote that she can't believe her daughter is no longer here.
"I sit and just shake my head. It doesn't seem real or right. You will forever be with me in my heart Jaimi. I love you so much."
Curry's husband has shared a heartfelt tribute to Jaimi, whose "life ended way too soon".
Mark Andrew Tabone shared a picture with Lisa and Jaimi on his personal Facebook page today, he wrote his job now is to nurture his wife through this "unimaginable time".
"As the tears flow and the heart aches, I write this as a tribute to beautiful young lady, who's life ended way too soon. As your mother & father weep your loss, I too feel lost and heavy hearted," he wrote.
"You always put everybody else first.
"You were gifted with many talents, amazing cook, arts and crafts, writing, and your love and creativity with flowers.
"Thankyou all for your condolences at this very difficult time for Lisa, Grant & all the Kenny / Curry family.
"My job now is to nurture my wife through this unimaginable time."
In a statement sent on behalf of Grant Kenny on Monday evening, it was announced Jaimi was surrounded by her family when she died.
"It is with a very heavy heart that Lisa and I confirm that our beautiful daughter Jaimi has lost her battle with a long-term illness and passed away peacefully in hospital this morning in the company of loving family," the statement read
