Come and try will take to the sky

FRASER COAST residents will take to the skies on October 15 and 16 for Maryborough's Try Gliding weekend.

With three gliders coming from across the Wide Bay, the event will be the first of its kind at the Maryborough Airport.

Event co-ordinator Janet Neisler said it was a great opportunity for people to see the area from a different perspective.

"I've logged more than 150 hours in the air, so I know the best view is from the sky," she said.

While prices for flights vary, Mrs Neisler said the event was a chance for people to learn more about air travel.

"You don't have to go gliding," she said.

"Visitors are more than welcome to come along and talk to our pilots," she said.

Prices for flights vary, with visitors encouraged to attend to learn more about gliding and the Fraser Coast's aviation clubs.
