Mayor to talk development
NEWLY elected Fraser Coast Mayor Gerard O'Connell plans to hit the ground running in his pursuit to improve the region.
The savvy business professional has been announced as the guest speaker at the Urban Development Institute of Australia, Fraser Coast branch lunch which will be held at Pepper's Pier Resort on May 24.
UDIA Fraser Coast president Daniel Poacher said Mayor O'Connell understood the development industry and the benefits a healthy industry had on the Fraser Coast's economy.
"The attendees at this event will be able to hear firsthand from our new mayor what his goals are for our region and his visions for the future growth of the development industry," Mr Poacher said.
"We are starting to reap the rewards of a vastly improved relationship between the council and the UDIA and having Cr O'Connell to work with along with his executive team will only strengthen this critically important relationship and foster better outcomes for sustainable development and facilitation of the growth projected for the Fraser Coast in the coming years."
Mr Poacher said anyone with a connection or interest in the development industry would benefit from attending the event.
