Meet and swap in style at Glenwood

IF YOU love a good swap meet, don't miss this weekend's most recognised meet in Queensland - Glenwood Swap Meet, Car and Bike Show and Charity Concert. The event attracts more than 4000 visitors each year.

Not only are there more than 170 buy, sell and swap sites to browse, starting from 7am, there is a variety concert from 9am, car and bike show and monster raffle.

"The sites have everything you can think of - from car and bike parts, collectables, plants, bric-a-brac and more," Swap Meet publicity officer Kris West said.

Concert headliners are top Australian electric guitar player Phil Emmanuel, national touring swamp rock n'stomp blues outfit Cleveland Blues, and vocal impressionist Billy Guy, supported by the Gold Dust Rockers. Also taking the stage are local singer songwriters and artists including Fox, Guitar Cozzy, Amanda Fox, and Brad Sorensen.

Visitors can also admire the car and bike show.

"The show attracts 50 entrants from Queensland and interstate, showing the finest collection of classic, vintage cars and bikes," Ms West said. "Shannon's Super Rig full of memorabilia, gaming consoles and more will be there for all to enjoy."

Ms West said the event had received funding from the Fraser Coast Regional Council.

"With the help of generous local businesses donating and sponsoring our event, the artists and people involved donating their time, it makes the day a huge success with all money raised going back to our local community."
