MORE than 200 people were a part of Maryborough's Community Canvas which illustrates love, peace and unity.

The nine-day project led by Hervey Bay artist Akos Juhasz was finally unveiled on Thursday at the Maryborough City Hall and impressed was an understatement for those who attended.

The canvas features Butchulla Elder Aunty Joyce Smith, Uncle Joe Eggmolesse and three children of different cultures along with other hidden iconic pictures.

Mr Juhasz said genuine indigenous art work was used in the piece and peering closer, more tiny detail could be found.

"You see so many little details like the Star of David, the Christian Cross, Sydney Harbour Bridge and even the Queen," he said.
