New St Stephen’s opens its doors to staff
TWENTY nurses and support staff from St Stephen's Hospital have started their first day of orientation at the hospital, which opens its doors to the public on October 13.
Local singer Sharnee Rhoder, who auditioned for the popular hit show The Voice, is now part of the hospital's support services team.
"I worked at an aged care centre before and I did a 12-week St Stephen's program through TAFE earlier in the year and it has paid off," she said.
A total of 47 new positions were created at the new hospital and general manager Deb Boyd said this is another exciting milestone for the new 96-bed hospital.
"It's fantastic to see some new faces joining our team and witnessing their shared commitment to helping patients," she said.
