Oil spill on Boat Harbour Drive after car motor gives way

OIL was dumped for about 30 metres along Boat Harbour Drive after a car motor gave way.

Torquay fire crews were called to make the area safe after the oil spill near Caltex about 12.30am Wednesday.

About six to ten litres of oil was dumped along the stretch of road.

Crews used a product designed to soak up the oil to make the road safe for motorists.

The owner of the car had it towed away.
