UPDATE:

POLICE are continuing to investigate the cause of a multi-vehicle crash in Sunshine Acres that left three people requiring hospital treatment.

A woman in her 60s was trapped in her car after the crash, which occurred about 3.50pm yesterday at the intersection of Keen Rd and Booral Rd.

Booral Rd was closed as emergency services descended upon the scene just after 4pm.

The woman was transported to Hervey Bay Hospital in a serious but stable condition, suffering injuries to her shoulder, arm, abdomen and chest.

A Queensland Ambulance Service Spokeswoman said a man in his 20s and another in his 40s were also transported to Hervey Bay Hospital.

Booral Rd remained closed for several hours while police combed the area.

EARLIER (4.40PM):

ONE person is understood to be trapped after a multi-vehicle crash in Sunshine Acres.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Keen Rd and Booral Rd about 3.50pm on Thursday afternoon.

Three people are being treated by paramedics.

Booral Rd is closed.
