Pool and movie pass prizes for young readers

CHILDREN can still win passes to the movies or the pool or a mini-tablet for reading books as part of the Summer Reading Club.

Fraser Coast Regional Council Acting Mayor George Seymour said the Summer Reading Club was open to children up to 16 years of age and across the Fraser Coast, 270 children had joined the program.

"The program encourages children to read," he said.

"Children receive a prize when they have read for five hours or five books and again when they have read for 10 hours or 10 books.

"Once they have read for 10 hours or 10 books they go into the draw for the mini-tablet."
