Richers trucks operating as normal for now

RICHERS Transport trucks are continuing to operate as usual, a company spokeswoman says.

She said that change in the next 24 to 48 hours depending on the flooding and the impact of cyclone Marcia.

Her comments follow a Facebook post from Gregg Driver, who said he worked in the trucking industry, stating most major truck companies were not leaving Brisbane to run north until the cyclone had cleared.

He said truck drivers in the Wide Bay area were being told to make their deliveries and return south.

But a spokeswoman at Maryborough Plaza's Supa IGA said the supermarket had just received a delivery of fresh produce and as far as she was aware it was business as usual in terms of future deliveries to the store.

Toll Group were also contacted for comment but have not yet provided a response.
