Putting customers first leads to major milestone

A DECADE of riding the “solar-coaster” with pride has positioned a Sunshine Coast energy business as one of the most well-respected installation companies in the region.

Halcol Energy has now reached the impressive milestone of servicing customers across the southeast Queensland area for 10 years.

Joint owner Andy Colley said the team was thrilled to hit the notable anniversary.

“It’s very exciting,” he said.

“It’s been an interesting ride. We call it the ‘solarcoaster’ because of the ups and downs of the industry.”

While Mr Colley noted various large solar jobs as notable points in Halcol Energy’s history, he was most proud of the valuable service they provided to customers.

“Just our honesty, integrity, standing by warranties and the support of our customers that we’ve had,” he said.

“That’s what has propelled us into a position where we are the trusted name.

“We want to make sure we put the customer first, the best we can.”

As a hands-on business, Mr Colley said it was important for locals to support the companies in their area.

“One thing that’s certainly become apparent over the years is that this, more than any industry, you need to buying local,” he said.

“You need to make sure that the company that’s installing for you has a support network where you are.

“There are issues with these systems. It could be anything from an animal getting under your panels and chewing on the cables to electrical problems. That’s why it’s advised you get a local company to install for you.”

Although celebrations for the milestone are on hold due to the current climate, Mr Colley said the team was looking forward to the future.

“What we intend to do, when the time is right, is run some nice deals for people to encourage them to go solar,” he said.

“We want to be on the frontline of making sure that we’re ready at all times for the changes that come.”
