Readers react to Anne Maddern's Coast council stand

Former State MP Anne Maddern faces a tough battle to be elected to the Fraser Coast Regional Council.

Readers of the Chronicle were not fond of Ms Maddern's decision to stand for the council after losing her State Maryborough seat in January 2015.

"She was a limp-noodle Member for Maryborough," he wrote.

"If she gets into council, it will be a wasted position, as she won't do anything."

"She was no good in Government," Helen Maffescioni added.

"No, no, no," Anne Cattermole said.

"Her vote (to) privatise local public health resources is still hurting this community."

Since suffering the swing against her in 2015, Ms Maddern has rested, taken a few short holidays and done a course in landscape oil painting.

Ms Maddern joins businessman Gordon Dale, former Army serviceman Stephen McGuigan and finance employee Michael Weeks in challenging Cr Truscott.
