Chronicle Facebook readers rate PM 4.5 out of 10

SINCE Tony Abbott was sworn in as Prime Minister on this day last year he's made some tough decisions along the way, angering some, but Fraser Coast residents are relatively okay with him.

Facebook communities at 14 of Australian Regional Media's newspapers were asked to rate Mr Abbott's performance and the average score across the group was 3 out of 10.

When the Chronicle's numbers from more than 80 comments were added up and averaged, Mr Abbott received a 4.5 rating out of 10 with one reader giving him 0 saying "that's being kind".

While some who gave perfect ratings confused us because of their added sarcastic comments, there are some genuine fans of the PM.

Reader Larry Anderson congratulated the PM on sending troops to fight the war against extremists.

"If Labor had won the last election, there would be another 50,000 of them in Aussie to worry about! Tony will go down in history as the PM who saved Australia," he said.

Julieanne Rasmussen said the PM had good intentions but had gone too hard too fast, like the Newman government.

"Job insecurity and losses always make people angry and uncomfortable," she said.

While there is some support for our budgie-smuggler-wearing PM, there are also some angry readers who are begging for a better government.

Sarah Cohen was among those who gave Mr Abbott an abysmal score and said there were too many reasons to post.

Kirsten Krohn vented, calling Mr Abbott heartless, sexist and arrogant.
