Relishing the chance to live on the Fraser Coast

OPINION: The Fraser Coast, as we all know, is a magical region to live in - from its world-famous natural attractions, beautiful safe beaches, laid back life- style to its excellent strong community that supports each other.

We are so proud to have opened a small business on the Fraser Coast.

It's not just the Fraser Coast to us, it's home!

Always has been and always will be.

Dan and I both moved to the Fraser Coast with our families when we were very young.

Dan went to Torquay State School and I went to Kawungan State School and we both attended Urangan State High.

There has been a lot of home-grown talent from the Fraser Coast.

Julia Paussa, restaurateur and owner of Coast Restaurant Hervey Bay, Tim Adam of Tim Adams Specialty Coffee, Australian cricketer Nathan Hauritz, Jarrod Fletcher, who is about to fight for a world title in boxing, and more - all coming from Urangan High.

Not only is there talent, but the amount of amazing locally grown produce that is available in our region is of high quality.

You may not know, but these items are shipped locally, nationally and internationally.

Many of these businesses were showcased at the local Relish Food and Wine Festival in Maryborough.

We are very lucky to be involved with such a positive and professional business network called BNI.

We have met so many inspirational small business owners on the Fraser Coast who are very passionate and hard working.

It's these small businesses also that make the region what it is.

We are so proud to be from the Fraser Coast and we want to tell the rest of the world about it.

You should all be very proud.

Without each and every one of you it wouldn't be the region it is.

We showcasied our region, what we have been up too and created a dish on Seven's Sunrise on Monday morning in Sydney.

Be proud, let's be Fraser Coast boasters!
